Frequently Asked Questions

Why no sales tax? As a new company, we are actually legally allowed to not charge sales tax. This means extra savings for everything you buy. :-)

Why didn't I hear back from the store chat? Despite our best efforts we are not always able to answer the chat right away - for instance, it might be after hours for us - but we do always answer. Please check your email (or junk folder sometimes) for our response and to continue the conversation.

Is carbon neutral jewellery more expensive? Generally speaking, it should be. That said, the cost to offset the carbon emissions from the jewellery we sell is born entirely by SilverToLove. In this way you pay less, while helping to ensure our planet stays beautiful.

Why do you carry only one of each jewellery piece? Our customers like the exclusivity that this brings. With the exception of non-adjustable rings (which we carry in different ring sizes), when our customers buy their selected jewellery, they know we will then be sold out of those pieces, which is kind of special. Our pieces are artistically made by hand, so there is no guarantee when or even if we will be able to get them again.

Are the carbon credits you purchase certified and retirable? Yes. We purchase our certified carbon credits through CarbonZeroa reputable Canadian company. With these credits we support carbon sequestering initiatives like the Niagara Escarpment Forest, and the Great Bear Forest carbon capture projects. Once purchased, each credit is retired, meaning they can not be purchased again. This ensures no double dipping, so that real change for good is made. We invite you to learn more about CarbonZero and the great carbon sequestering projects their carbon credits help to support.

Your gold-filled jewellery is often similarly priced to silver, how is that possible? For gold-filled, we always state the core metal beneath the gold layer. If that core metal happens to be brass, then the overall value of the piece will be similar as if the piece were made wholly of silver. This is because the gold layer on our gold-filled jewellery is so thick. In other words, a piece made of gold-filled with bronze core, and a same piece made wholly of silver, will have a similar overall value, as each are composed with significant amounts of precious metal (i.e. silver or gold).

Do the carbon offsets and charitable donations make your jewellery more expensive? No, our jewellery remains very competitively priced. These costs are borne by us, as we accept lower company profits in return for doing our part to make the world a better place, and feeling good about the jewellery we sell. We find that given the positive relationships we have with our customers, that they appreciate this as well.
